Thessaloniki, Gate to Balkan Peninsula

If you get bored in Thessaloniki in spite of all its diversity, do not forget that the city is an excellent departure point for discovery trips to the Balkan peninsula. Already since 1871 it has its railway connection to Skopje. Today, Thessaloniki has direct connections to Sofia, Belgrade, Moscow, Budapest and Bucharest, as well as to Vienna or Istanbul.
