Thessaloniki enjoys best Mediterranean climate, with an average temperature of 16°C, which can rise to almost 30°C in the summer months. Then, Thessaloniki’s streets are burningly hot, and there hardly falls rain.

But in winter things change dramatically and who travels to Thessaloniki by then should not be cheated by the fact that the Mediterranean is close: it is now the neighbourhood of the Balkan peninsula that influences Thessaloniki’s climate, for now in winter it is cold and humid.

So, if you travel outside summer, do not forget about warm clothes – if not you might end your vacation with a flu.
